Cadence Advisory

Growth with purpose.

Grow with structure.

Cadence Advisory is a full service business development consultancy that partners with nonprofit organizations at every stage of growth, from client engagement, market intelligence, and positioning to technical approach creation, proposal strategy, and development. We recognize that growth is a marathon, not a sprint. By applying a rigorous grant development and writing process to the mission-driven, storytelling needs of nonprofits, we bring clarity to uncertain funding environments.

Our innovative Analyze, Reveal, Craft, and Hone (ARCH) growth model helps clients build disciplined, repeatable systems for identifying, pursuing, and winning new business in government, industry, and philanthropic markets. Recognizing that strong proposals are a starting point, rather than an end point, we work with organizations across the entire business development lifecycle to accelerate growth.

Grow with experience.

Cadence is helmed by Taylor Williamson. Before Cadence, Taylor led donor engagement, growth, and proposal efforts at Abt Global and RTI International, raising over $350 million in grants and contracts. Over his 20 years in public health and development, he has partnered with dozens of nonprofit organizations, research institutions, and governments in the US and internationally to strengthen their ability to respond to, and execute, competitive awards in health and social services. He translates complex project designs, grant applications, and project success to storytelling impact.

Before working in development, Taylor was a program manager and health systems strengthening expert. He managed four public health programs worth tens of millions of dollars, spanning nearly a dozen countries. He was the health governance technical lead for three USAID-funded health system strengthening projects, where he provided technical direction and leadership for health governance challenges, including country programs to improve access to justice for people living with HIV and key populations, strengthen health sector decentralization, and assess health systems.

He previously worked in Rwanda, where he managed Global Communities capacity strengthening portfolio, working with civil society organizations to improve their grant writing, strategic planning, program management, and advocacy skills. He has published several manuscripts and working papers on civil society strengthening, stewardship, human rights, and accountability. He graduated from Colorado College and Tulane University and has worked in over two dozen countries.

He’s also an avid runner, skier, and proud Tennessean.
